Motomu Toriyama the Director of Final Fantasy XIII , has stated that in terms of game play there is no difference between PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. It's the data compression that might suggest differences. "There is only really a difference in terms of media encoding. In-game, when you're controlling your character there is absolutely no difference", says the director, "Because Blu-ray is able to hold more data than DVDs the compression rate is different. You have to change discs, but it's only twice.  

The launch of the first direct-to-TV movie streaming service could eventually render DVD rental stores redundant. A major deal between Sony and online DVD rental firm Lovefilm means an entire movie collection is only one click away for viewing on the box. Japan-based vendor JVC has launched Everio series Bloggie palm-size digital camcorders in the Taiwan market for families and children. The vendor will later launch more models, and expects its market share of all types of digital camcorders in Taiwan to rise from 20% in 2009 to 30% at the end of 2010, according to JVC Taiwan.
